I recently noticed that I have an unatached vacume line on the passenger side vacume tree. There is 1 inlet, and 2 outles. The inlet and one outlet are hooked up fine...but there is one that has no line coming out of it, and there is a slight vacume leak there.

I disconnected my smog sytem quite a long time ago, and cant remember if I had plugged it, or if it is supposed to be connected to something else.

I'll get some pics if I can.

Two large hoses connect to the vavuum tree, on suction from the intake manifold, one from the power brake booster. One small hose goes to the controls for the A/C, Heater & vent. The remaining port is unused in stock applications & is capped.

Hmmm, if it's supposed to be capped, I guess the cap must be gone. All thats left if a spot for one of the plastic vacume lines to plug into, nothing else.

In the diagram below are you referring to item 58 (Vacuum Check Valve) or item 43 (Vacuum Distribution Tee)?
I think (and I could be completely wrong here ) that jrichker was referring to the Vacuum Distribution Tee when he referred to the

but like I said I could be completely wrong.

One port on the tree (#43 in illustration) is for the cruise control. I think it's labeled "S/C".

The vacumm tree on the passenger side number 58 on the picture (I think) on my car has 3 hoses, the hose on the end connects to the tree on the drivers side, Number 43 on the pic, the next fitting over connects to a small hard plastic vacumm line and runs in the firewall (for the HVAC control maybe), and the last one runs in another hard plastic line into my passenger fender area (god only knows why, it must snake out somewhere else). My car is an 88 speed density with a 5 speed. Hope this helps some.

The third line going into the passenger fender is connected to the vacuum reservoir "ball". It maintains your hvac settings when the engine sees little/no vacuum.
