Yeah just burn it to DVD, I think I used Nero or Alcohol 120%(FTW!)
You should be fine.
The first problem I got into was connecting with my network adapter, for some reason if IPv6 Protocol is enabled in the device properties it will not connet.
Don't know if this was just me or a standard thing.
Let us know once you are on, IF you can

Just take an image of it using nero, and burn it to a dvd. if you have an external, take all your files over to it and do a fresh install on your internal hard drive. This will help weed out and potential software/hardware incompatibility issues.

On my system, my wireless keyboard and mouse doesn't like vista...so I'm going to have to upgrade to the new "ultimate" keyboard and mouse. it's pretty sweet...the keyboard is backlit.

I also had some problems with my drivers for my mainboard integrated soundMax sound card. After wading through a lot of crap on the internet, I found the old xp drivers and everything works now.

did you take an image of XP when you still had it?

if you didn't, you're not getting XP back

laptops don't do so well with RC1 as far as some hardware/driver compatibility goes

I have a xp disk that came with the computer but im afraid if I try installing xp over vista im going to have them both on my compter at the same time. Someone told me they had something called a F disk that would completely wipe my hard drive and I could start over. I think that would be my last resort. Everthing important is on an external hard drive anyways.

No.
When you boot off of XP, if it is a microsoft disk and not a rebundled restore disk,
it should come with a disk partitioner. All you have to do is wipe the partitions on the drive and start fresh. It's easy.
I'm not sure though, if that disk that came with your computer is an actual Windows XP disk.
