HELP!? Would belt being a smidge too loose cause it to come OFF?

It might be possible but it seems as if the pulleys are in align. So I am going to go with it for now. and consider the wobble, bad idler and stock tensioner + smog delete "tension" problem + loose belt. .. like that isn't enough.

Ok, also, if I decide to delete the power steering..for now, will the tensioner and serpentine system still work with the proper size belt?

If the washers are causing a misalignment issue, u'd be able to see it when the engine is running and you rev it. It would try to "walk" off one of the smooth pulleys(tensioner, water pump).

If the power steering pump has that much play in it, i'd vote for that. That is if you really do have the pulleys in alignment. Why did u use washers to begin with?

That probably explains why there are "delete" pulleys. Belt length, I can't help.

My question is why was it out of alignment. What brand pullies are they? 4 washers is A LOT to make up for if they were manufactured with bad tolerances. If memory serves me right...the crank pulley can go on 2 ways.....cause it is offset. My memory tells me if u put it on backwards, u'd need spacers to take up for the offset u would have if u put it on right.

Does the crank pulley spin true? ZERO wobbling? I tried using washers before on a turbo setup but it didnt spin true enough.

Oh and one other thing, if u use a caliper and measure the 4 washers, my bet is u'll come up with different widths. Washers are stamped metal....giving a width that is not consistant. I ended up using plastic spacers which were much more accurate.

No, not 4 washers. 1 washer on each bolt. 2 millimeters.. spins true.
