im trying to get the S spring clip back in my differential,cant figure it out,should the c clips be installed after the s spring is in so the axles could be pulled back a little ,or is it impossible to get the c clips in after the s spring is installed?I have been trying to tap it in with a dowel but it keeps going crooked,i tried vise grips but they hit the carrier before the clip is in.

S-Spring goes in first. Then all your other hardware. They are a bit tight, but they do go in there.

its good for the s spring to be a tight fit so there is good presure on the clutch packs.
