If you are talking about a cold air intake, I have read that most require a new tune which means you will have to go buy an XCAL. I think the one exception is the K&N CAI which doesn't require a tune.

What brand of intake? What was the code?

Yeah, what was the code.
Did you tell the dealer that you had just installed a CAI?
Could be a coincidence with something else.
The dealer should have investigated the cause and not just reset the code.

I thing you right.

What a CAI does is increase the amount of air relative to the amount of fuel entering the combustion chamber, a "lean" condition. Running an engine lean can result in overheating of the internal surfaces, pre-ignition (the fuel/air charge doesn't wait for the spark to ignite it, since there is already something plenty hot to do the job) and "pinging". Too much or too long of an episode like that can destroy an engine, so the computer sends a message to your "trouble light" to warn you to do something before it all falls down around your ankles and you land on your face.

I'm not saying stealerships are mean old money-grubbers, but if they didn't tell you all that, they may be looking forward to your next visit, when you bring them an engine rebuild rather than a trouble light to fix.

Answer is, take off the CAI unless you get that good tuner tune. Big investment, $350.00 or more. No free lunch, or horsepower. Fact of life.
