I just got finished replacing my front suspension and Now I have a problem. I did the Shelby drop, 620's (supposedly) GR2's new lower control arms, rebuilt uppers. new strut rod bushings, 1" sway bar and roller perches. I havent put the sway bar on yet, so that may be some of my problem but i doubt it. The problem is now I am only 22 1/4" off the ground in the fron, which looks cool, but is not drivable. Does the sway bar do anything that relates to ridde height? I bought the coils from the classified on here and the guy said they made his car too low, but I thought maybe just a little too low, not undrivable too low. What should I do?

edit,
pay no attention to my sig pic, its a photochop...

the springs havent been cut...it sucks that I spent this money on these springs, but thats the chance you take when you dont buy new...I bet a 1" poly spacer wouldnt help would it?

but then you run the risk of not knowing the spring rate for it . .

i'd bite the bullet and buy a new set of springs just so you know what oyu have

then sell the old ones for $20 and tell them it's a hit or miss

Most of the aftermarket springs are shorter than stock, some are a lot shorter. I had the same problem years ago with my '69. I swapped the short 620s for a pair of variable rate Eibachs. It solved the problem, but they were still pretty short when combined with the Shelby drop.

I have heard that if you replace the stock sagging springs that the 620's will actually raise your car. My wheels are almost even with the wheel wells and I have a small tire on the front, 225/45-17...I guess I will have to start scraping some money together and try to get some new springs...

i'm betting you got a set of 620's for a 65-66 car, they are a good bit shorter than 67-up springs. you should be able to sell these to a guy who needs some 620's for a 65-66 car, or you could try the 1" poly spacers first and see how you like it

i dont know if 1" bushing will bring it up enough...right now i have no insulator on the spring...shought I use the regular insulator plus the 1"?

The 1" insulator worked for me. I have the 1" lowering 620s on my 70. The front and rear of your car look like they are at the same hight. You may have to raise the rear after you get the front right. Not sure about stacking insulators, spacers. But I wouldn't do it.
