What model year Mustang are we talking about? Start by checking the electrical connector to the Coil pack. Look for bent/pushed pins. Especially the T/O wire. Use a "noid" style test light to confirm a firing pulse from the PCM. If no pulse, bad PCM or wiring. If firing pulse, likely a bad coil pack.
