It sounds good up until the Displacement on Demand, its just something to go wrong.

Companies like GM are already using engines with Displacement on Demand and they seem to work fine for them. I haven't heard of any mechanical problems with the system although it doesn't make a huge different in gasoline consumption.

To each their own, but DoD would be the first thing I'd have turned off via a tune.

I remember when Cadillacs had that option in the early 80's.

I've been following all of the new car releases pretty well for the past year. The DoD feature has been perfected to a point now where you can not even tell when it's working. If you go for a ride in a 300C you'll know what I am talking about. The electronics are now tested to 150K mile durability requirements for most OEM's so there shouldn't be anything to worry about. Just enjoy the better gas mileage on the highway...

A 4 valve 4.6 will be interesting for sure.

There's already a 4-valve 4.6 liter in the '03-'04 Cobras. Bad ass internals.

The concept picture of the '09 Mustang seems a bit extreme.

I wonder how fast the other four fireup because there still going up and down, i hope there would be a button to enable all 8 all the time for the track.

I wouldnt worry too much about that concept. I've seen that rendering thrown around back in 2002-2003-ish. It's one of the many conceptual drawings back then. I hope the redesign brings some swoops with sharp edges. I want to see some sexy hips on a 2009 Mustang.

If you are going at WOT then I have a tendancy to doubt the computer will think you need to save fuel.

The DoD systems are programed to function only when the loads on the engine are very light [i.e. cruising down the highway] Surely at the track you aren't doing 70mph with your cruise control on.

Yes! I want to see some nice lines on the rear quarter panel, and a more agressive front end

I was reading some quote from a guy from Ford who said the change will include a more modern look.
