i took my car to get alighned the other week after puttin a new spindle and inner and outer tie rods on it. the guy there said i need new ball joints and steering rack bushings because my steering rack actually moves side to side. thats probably not safe, no wonder i have so much bumpsteer but anyway i think i will buy the 03 04 cobra front ca's since they come with the ball joints and new bushings. wut should i get as far as steering rack bushings? my car is not lowered but i plan on lowering it at some point. MM has aluminum bushings which sounds like a good idea or should i get the offset bushings or standard poly bushings. im goin to get eibach pros btw. Also where is a good place to get a new steering rack because a seal in mine leaks. Any input welcome thanks

MHO:

Get under and check it over yourself. Some shops mention everything including the kitchen sink because it's smart. With new parts, you wont have issues in the near future and won't come back to complain.

Good call on the Terminator FLCAs. Get some poly end links and anti sway bushings.

If you have a stock K, offset rack bushings are not great. Non-offset poly rack bushings are very nice IMHO. Go to MM and look up their install instructions for the solid bushings. See if you want to do that - it can be screwed up and cause binding issues if the bushings are not located correctly.

If you dont have CC plates, consider them. If not, new top-strut mounts might not be a bad idea.

You can get a reman'd short rack from most parts stores. I dont know other options because they're too pricey for me. AGR would be another option, as would FR.

Good luck.

Thanks is MM's steering shaft a good buy or a waste of $250 for a basic street car. my basic plan is to get the whole suspension done set-up for a daily driven street car but is ready to pound corners on occasion. sure i wud love a tubular K with coil-overs but im jus an average joe workin in his backyard lol
