here's one for you smart 5.0 wiring guys!!

Ok, couple weeks ago my o2 harness got shredded, snagged a root or a rock or something in the yard, anyway it was fubar, and now ive been driving my crap for a couple weeks with no o2's and im tired of getting 15mpg. SO!

I have a connector that will go to the main harness but thats it, i want to make my own harness to each bank o2 sensor.

So does anybody have a diagram of what pins go where on the connector, or which side bank specificly would be veddy helpful, i dont have anything to do tomorrow and i need to get it done..

the extra resistance will change the reading of the o2's. they will function, but it will be far from ideal.

it is much less important on a fox than on an OBDII car

what do you mean? wire length? it shouldnt matter...

The O2 sensor output circuit is a low voltage (less than 1 volt), low current (less than 1/100 amp) circuit.
Using the recommended 16 gauge wire, the difference in voltage drop between a 2 ft wire and a 4 ft wire
is so small that it would not matter.

The only part of the O2 circiut that draws any real power is the heater circuit. Even then the 16 gauge wire is
plenty big and 2 or 3 extra feet of wire would not cause problems.

If anyone wants to see the math to prove it, I will post it.

I would be sure to solder it though, if you use butt connectors then they are easily exposed to the elements and can rust and cause resistance, and with that low of voltage will affect the performance of it.

the length isnt the problem. the connections are. they will create the resistance that causes the problem.
