Think you are ready for another rent-a-racer Ford Mustang? Good thing, because the Ford and Hertz & Penske Racing alliance has resulted in one hot thing already this summer–a sporty Mustang GT to take up honors as the latest addition to the Hertz Adrenaline Collection.
The Hertz Penske Mustang GT can be found for rental at select US airport rental locations, and includes a healthy amount upgrades from the base late model Mustang trim. Let’s start with a quad-tip exhaust system, a tuned ECU, 3.55 gears out back, and Brembo braking at all 4 corners. Not bad…at all. And of course, the Coyote 5.0-liter engine is underhood, cranking out an underrated (due to performance enhancements) 420hp.
“Working with Penske Racing, we’re excited to introduce the Penske-inspired vehicle as the newest in a long line of American muscle cars in our rental fleet,” commented Mark. P. Frissora, Hertz Chairman and CEO. “There’s nothing more thrilling than hitting the open road in a high-performance, American-built sports car. With this addition to our Adrenaline Collection, we are introducing a vehicle with race car performance enhancements to give customers a unique travel experience.”
Outside, the Hertze Penske Mustang GT is adorned with the well-known black coat of paint with the signature Hertz yellow racing stripes as accents. But it also sports a Boss 302 front splitter, a GT500 rear valence, and some additional customized graphics. Resting inside is black Recaro seating, a limited edition dash plaque, custom-crafted floor mats & door sill plates, and an interactive touchscreen media center with backup camera.
“It is terrific that a classic American car is being transformed into a one-of-a-kind vehicle inspired by Penske Racing,” said Roger Penske. “The Hertz Penske GT makes us even more excited for what is in store for our multi-year partnership with Hertz, and we are thrilled that our fans and Hertz travelers will have the opportunity to rent this special car.”
