What would cause hesitation when i step on the gas.I assume it goes along with the car stalling when i put it in reverse.The hesitation gets to the point of almost stalling for example,when i am at a stoplight and go to step on the gas it hesitates to almost the point of stalling.It obviously has to do with eather gas or ignition but how do i test it out or find somewhere to start looking?

do a thorough cleaning of the throttle body and change the spark plugs, also check for vacuum leaks.

try cleaning the IAC and setting the TPS to .98v

like 88 hatchblack said, the e cam likes at least 800 to 900 idle, once you get that, disconnect the battery for 15 minutes, turn the key (car off) and then set your tps to .98 (dont go over 1.0) start your car and work with what i just said untill you get what you are looking for as an idle and your mashing on the pedel should reaect better to.

I would try changing the MAF. If you know someone who you could swap out it and try it. That would be something to try easy if the other things don't help.
