I always wanted to build a GT, but with a Capri body. I thought it would look cool with a GT hatch, bumper covers, ground effects, quarter glass and a cowl hood. The only thing that would be evident from the Capri would be the flared fenders.

Speaking of Funky...has anyone seen this??

You speak of blasphemy!!!

Frankenstang pretty much has what you're describing, except it was an '80 Capri done up more like a '90 Saleen (done by her ex). Still has the Capri fenders, but everything else is '90 Mustang with a Saleen wing and front airdam. She's received nothing but headaches from folks on various message boards, and she hates it.

Capris are rare enough as it is, and there is NO aftermarket supplier of Capri-specific parts - NONE! **DO NOT** hack up a Capri or waste its fenders (or other parts) on a dime-a-dozen Mustang!

If I had the money, and if that Capri was closer, I'd be all over that in a heartbeat. That thing has SOOOOOO much potential...

Here now that you know what a CapStang looks like, get it out of your system.

You're crazy! Those valances go on ebay for $300+

There's more than 1k in parts on that car alone, let alone the restoration value of it. If you think fox Mustang restoration is getting hot, try finding quality parts for a Capri. In 20 years it won't be the Mustangs that are rare, it'll be Capris.

Posted via Mobile Device Dayton, Ohio area. May go look at it Friday if its still there. Looks to be an hour or so from me. Rust will determine the price and interest for me. Hopefully its decent.
