hey everyone newbie here trying to help out my mom. She is having what I think may be a fuel issue and i want to do the necessary test for it.

2003 sn95 4.6

will this tester work?

Fuel Pressure Tester & Fuel Injection Pump Tester

If anyone cares to maybe provide their opinion here are the symptoms

random shuddering at idle
while at 1/8th of a tank two nights ago she was turning into a parking lot, and experienced loss of power, when she pushed harder on the accelerator the car shuddered and went very slowly.

I went to pick her up. started the car fine, drove it around the parking lot, all seems fine.

So before she ends up stranded and the car needs to be towed, I want to proactively see if i can find out the problem.

my GUESS is that the fuel pump may be going bad, and was exaggerated by the fuel level being so low.

Might be handy to know the model year of your Mom's car. You are aware that not all MY's have a Schrader valve on the fuel rail? The tester doesn't appear to come with the special adapters needed to work with the cars that do not have a Schrader valve.

So if this car does have a Schrader valve, the tester should work fine.

thank you, yes it does have the schrader, I fixed my original post to add the model year which is 2003

Motor running?

Disconnect the fuel rail pressure sensor intake vacuum reference line. Does the fuel pressure jump to 40 PSI with the motor running? If yes, the fuel pressure is fine.

Remember to reconnect the vacuum reference line.

It's strange. My 2003 GT does not have a fuel Schrader value. My 2000 GT does.
