i want to put in HID bulbs for my 06 stang but by putting in HID bulbs in a stock housing, if i turn on high beam by accident, i would fry them, is there a way to disconnect your high beams totally?

you wont have the option to turn on high beams, u will only have low beams with a hid kit. if u click high beams they will just turn off

There are properly functioning HID kits that have a high beam funtion.

Your best bet it to retrofit a set of AUDI/BMW housings into the stock Ford housing.

This would include proper ballasts, proper shutters, and a good deal of time needed to construct the housing...

In the end if it doesn't look like this, don't bother...

no, your best bet is to buy the saleen headlights. they replace the entire headlight, and you dont lose high beams, and are designed for the 05+ mustang specifically. i have them and love em

Easiest sure, but at around $800-$900 for the Saleen kit, a retrofit would be cheaper. I myself would install the Saleen kit, but some people have a hard time letting go of a grand for headlights.
