I am looking for help in figuring ou what type of hid bulbs to get for an 08 GT/CS. I would like something to match the factory hid headlamps as much as possible. Any suggestions?

Factory HID systems are ALL around 4300K. The reason why some cars seem bluer then other is not because they have higher Kelvin temps but it's because the projectors (i.e. real HID lenses) cut the light in a way that give that type of coloration (think prism effect). Higher Kelvin temps in aftermarket retrofits are meant to imitate that but unfortunately it is illegal and disruptive to add an HID bulb inside a lens that was meant for incandescent bulbs because it creates tons of glare.

You're thinking about putting HID's in the fogs. I get flashed for using the fogs with the regular stock bulbs imagine what that would do to oncoming drivers once you plug in an HID retrofit of some sort.

That said I wouldn't mind having a set of 5K (natural white) headlights and some 3K (yellow) fogs. if i did that i'd probably have to put some light blackouts or something to reduce the glare though.

I really don't have a want, or need, to put true hid lamps in the fogs, since I too get flashed for just using the regular hid lamps and the curent fogs... so that would be overkill. What I am looking for is a bulb that matches the color output of the hids instead of the nasty yellow that they currently are.

Gathering what I learned from your reply, I would assume that there are bulbs out there that could match that color, but with a lower khz rating that wouldn't be too much with the headlamps on as well.

Well.. If I got you correctly you just want better bulbs for your fogs to make your light whiter?

If that's the case there's a couple of bulbs you can try.

Sylvania Silverstars Ultra comes to mind off the top of my head.
GE has now their version I think it's called Nighthawk.

Try to stay away from those cheap HYPER WHITE JDM RICE lightbulbs because they pop easily or worse achieve a brighter light by drawing twice the wattage of your stock bulbs which can burn up your wiring in a hurry.
