yeah, you can replace your current setup with h1 or h3's if you make sure the connections are the same. Typically, there is an industry standard amongst these HID retro kits, and they all adapt the same. An ignitor and a ballest will power any bulb if the connections are the same. In most cases they are. I just ordered some 6000k h3 bulbs for my new projector housing, and they have the same connection as my 9007 HID bulbs have.
So color is dependant on the bulb?
So if i don't like the 8000K 9007 bulb, i can try to pick up some 5500K 9007's (if the connectors match) and use those?

Ah, you can put Silverstars in the fogs as well? That was always what stopped me everytime I saw those things at Wal-Mart, I didn't want that bright light above and yellow crappy below (I always use my fogs). I have always wanted lights just a little better than the stock without putting down a 2-3 hundred on real HID's.
Well I might be sold now... but, do Silverstars last?

893ST is the number bulb for the Fog lights. Look on ebay, you can get the 9007ST's and 893ST's for about $25/pair, which beats the $20 per bulb they sell for in the store
Thet are nice and bright and white...which i think looks great on my Silver car. I just wanted HID's for a while and bought a set off a member here. I just might want to change the color of the bulb down to a more "white" level to match the fog lights

I LOVE my HIDs. I'm not a fan of 8000k because it looks too "ricer" IMO. Plus I like the diamond white output of the 6000k. It was WELL worth the $350. Anyone that chimes in with "Silverstars = $40" can sit down. I had silverstars and they suck compared to HIDs. 100% improvement.
It's tuff to truely capture the brightness of these things...

During the day, I run just the fogs. At night it's the HIDs w/no fogs. It'll stay like this till I can find the $240 + $80 for HID fogs + clear fog housings.
Right now the next goal is stop the spending on cosmetics and get the blower.

Basically it's a housing that uses a different bulb socket. Our stock housings hold a 9007 bulb. Projectors will use an H1 bulb or something similar. So basically, it's a complete different bulb that shoots the light completely different.
Here is a projector housing. You can see the difference:

So now with that, you can see the difference a projector housing will do to the light output. I just use the stock housing with a 9007 HID.

Would you know by any chance that if I had purchased those projectors, can I just buy H1 and H3 HID bulbs and use my existing ballasts and igniters?
