I've been wanting a shift light, but I'd rather not have it just hangin out on my steering column, becuase it ruins the clean looks. A friend told me he's seen some people hide them inside the center vent. Has anyone done this? And if so, how hard is it and what is required?

Cool concept, but it isn't exactly a good spot. The point of a shift light is so you don't have to look down at the tach. But you would be looking down at the vent anyway

Would be cool for the cool factor though I guess..

I have my Raptor installed in the vent, TRUST me you don't have to look at the vent to see it when it lights up.

Most shift lights are extremely bright, and if you are using it at night you might want to warn your passangers to wear their sun screen! My friend had one in his car and I was seeing spots after it lit up!

I have the blue raptor shiftlight. When I placed it, I pointed it slightly toward me. I didn't even need to drill anything(no brackets) to install it, just jam it in the vent.
