HIGH oil press? New gauges (w/ pics)

Just got done installing AutoMeter Sport Comps w/ a dual pod and an 8k tach w/ shift light (as you can see below).

I've read here that oil pressure should be 30 psi 2000 rpm. Is this correct? I currently have 45 psi at 2000 rpm and 25 psi at idle. What's up with that?

Ironically, I did this gauge install b/c my stock oil gauge was reading way low.

Sounds just fine..my new mill pulls 45-50 at warm idle and 60-65 at 2000. Your doing just fine at 25psi idle and rule is you want 10psi for every 1000rpm...gauges look great, some ones I run.

The more pressure at idle or warm idle the better. The guideline for 30PSI @ 2,000 is just a yardstick to measure from.

Thanks for the input fellas. This is all a sigh of relief considering two weeks ago when I started driving the car I thought I had bought a car with very low oil pressure (stock gauge reading).

It feels good to learn some things as I go with the mods I'm doing. :SNSign:

Yep.. anything around or above 20psi at idle is perfectly fine.
