Fuel pump might be going out. Usually it make a noise like that before they go out.

Definately the fuel pump. Some are louder than others.

I have the sound from the rear as well. I can really hear it when the back seats are down but is blocked when seats are up. How hard is a fuel pump to change?

Yeah it's the fuel pump.

Mine is deafening, but I heard that they are all like that...Some said after putting new ones in, that the new ones are actually louder.

Agree with the panel of experts. Some fuel pumps get real noisy before they go out others continue to operate at some noise level for quite a number of years that way.

Is it best to get it replaced ASAP? I just get frustrated with that noise being there for some reason, but now skeptic to change it since you said the new ones make an even louder noise. Whats wrong with the Fuel Pump that causes the noise and is there any way at all to silence it completly? Also, is this situation something serious or just minor?
