most people know the sound an amp makes when getting interference from somewhere...the high pitched hiss. Well when outside my car i hear that noise....not related to an amp at all. It sounds like it's coming from the back near the hatch. Anyone have this problem or know what the problem is. I think it maybe the intank pump? complete guess....dunno what else would make noise like that.

happens all the time....

Sounds like your fuel pump. Most of the pumps on 5.0's are a little loud.

Ya that'd be your fuel pump, don't worry, it's normal to be loud like that.

My buddy's CD deck in his honda makes an interferance hiss to it... people actually believe its a turbo (gets louder with RPM's) LOL.

In fact, if you have to be outside your car to hear it, then yours is quieter than most!

sxystev0: If you can't hear your pump from inside your car, then you've got the quietest pump your gonna find. All mustang fuel pumps are loud.
