i have a strange problem, the low speed fan kicks on just fine but i get no high speed. if i turn the A/C on tho it works just fine and the car stays at about 190-200

is this caused by a bad CCRM? anyone else expierence this? if i just ran a switch for the high speed fan would this be fine so i dont have to run the a/c all the time?

Most likely it is the CCRM. The fan does work at high speed with the switch correct? If so, then it most likely is the CCRM. You could also unplug the wiring to the a/c and leave it on that way it kicks on the fan.

Or put a low speed switch in too. I would not want to go from off to high speed.

And dont have high speed on at the same time as low speed.

Good luck.

I would spend 10 bucks more for the FoMoCo part.

You can test the ECT - it contains a thermistor. Since low speed comes on when it should, that would have suggested to me that the ECT and its wiring was fine. But since John thinks it is likely, you can ohm the wires out or just swap sensors.

FWIW, you have just inspected the high speed fan connection, right? That is the first thing anyone does - The high speed terminal likes to melt. Have you connected fused 12 volts to the high speed terminal of the fan motor to ensure it works?

Good luck.

Did any of these suggestions fix your issue? If so, what did you do?

I have the same problem: My low speed fan kicks on automatically, but I have to use a manual switch to turn the high speed on. This makes my car run too cold and drive like crap.

As a temporary fix, how does keeping the AC on work? Does it keep the high speed fan on, or does it turn the fan on automatically for temp control?
