hit a snag

Well I got my parts for this summer chrome 03 cobra R's 255x40x17, patriot performance heads, scorpion RR's and a bunch off odds and ends. So today I bought a brand new set of air tools/ compressor hehe. I decided to clay the pistons to check valve clearance So i made play dough hehe and I put the clay on and cranked the motor and it hit *sigh* I was hoping it would run tonight.... but then i realized since i pretty much need to pull the engine im going to order a 347 short block and i decieded on this ebay kit anyone heard or had it before? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford...Block-TMD_W0QQitemZ170209255185QQcmdZViewItem

I've not heard any feedback on the eBay shortblocks, but for that price, why not order from a known reputable source? DSS, CHP, RNH should all be in that pricerange for a 347 shortblock with quality parts installed in them. You could always pick up the Isky tool and notch the pistons on your current shortblock, to make it work, too.

Not trying to be a smart ass here, but what exactly are '03 Cobra R's? I've heard of '03 Cobras and Cobra R's in the '95 and '00 configuration, but never a combination of both for that year? Pics?

yeah sorry i meant cobras thanks for the reply maybe i should shop around a bit I know osme engine builders around here I just thought the price was cheap and where can i get this tool from ?? I might look into that too

Cranked the motor as in turning the key or just turning it by hand?

Thank god, you had me worried.

I would stay away from the EBAY stuff, better companys have figured out the oil consumption issues with them, but the more no name have not. It's hit or miss.

I'd recommend getting a kit and having it assembled by a shop near you. Like CHP, scat, eagle. For cheapness sake I would go with CHP, decent stuff at a great price. 0oz balance it and your good to go.
