should i get a cowl hood since Im at it??? Anybody got any pictures and links of some??? I was either thinking that or getting a shelby type hood. Might as well do it right instead of doing it twice
I understand you have a '67 now and not a '65 but here is a pic of a '65 with a '67 GT350/500 style hood that I bought from Mustang Depot of Las Vegas. Price was $369 and i'm using the low tension springs with it. It's a good quality hood made by Fiberglass Specialties. Took a solid day to do the fitting primarily because it was wider than the steel hood and it had a few minor rough spots. Being wider was a good thing...reduced the gap betwen the hood and the fenders. Had to fit the hood pins and drill the holes too. Took it in 2 weeks ago for painting and just put it on a few days ago...very happy with the hood quality and the new look (had a '65 GT 350 scoop on a steel hood previously...nothing but problems trying to mold fiberglass to steel which over time cracked...should have known better).
They carry '67 hoods too. Those 3" cowl hoods in my opinion are too much for a pony car.

How much additional clearance do you think you gained over the 65/66 Shelby style hood? The reason I ask is that I run a Victor JR on mine and while that fit fine under my shelby scoop, when I added the 1" carb spacer I ran out of room and I am running a small filter which fits up in the Shelby scoop until I decide what hood to buy. I want to run a taller better quality filter and I'm considering Cowl but I'm not super crazy about the looks.
