just called around to a few spots to get a new dowel pin since i seem to be missing one. not sure it it was stuck in my old E7's since they are gone now or if i was just missing one.

BUT they are now obsolete. i called one of the local parts stores that has a machine shop and they had one laying around. so they were able to save my ass.

Couldnt you have a machine ship mic the cam and make one for you?

im refering to the dowel pin for the heads to the block... the cam pin i could have made myself

i saw they and CJ's both have them... i needed them now so i checked local. got same story from everyone that they were obsolete.

I have seen them before in the HELP section on the rotating Ford rack. Not a very reliable or consitent source for them though. Invariably, they won't have them on the shelf when you need them.

I picked up an Explorer engine years ago and finding the screw-on adapter for the oil filter was a PITA. I ended up getting one off eBay for like $3, but with like $10 in shipping, so I could have it overnight. Those little odds and ends will get ya.

well looks like im ordering it... the one the local machine shop had was the wrong one

A piece of hard copper tubing and a hacksaw or ar powered abrasive cutoff tool are all you need to make the dowels. I have done it and it worked well.
