Hole?

So I've disassembled the front suspension and I'm about to Shelby drop it...there's a hole between the original a-arm mount...is that suppose to be there?

that hole isn't supposed to be there. do you have one on both sides?

I actually got caught up in something else so I didn't have time to remove the other side. So is that going to pose a problem? I'll have pics of the other side soon hopefully.

it shouldnt if you use the support plate to strengthen where the new holes will be.

Are you relocating the upper arm???Isnt there a support plate thats used???

I always thought this was a "free" mod? I didn't know there was a support plate I needed to get...where can i get some?

I think i'm gonna have those holes welded up so no biggie. And I'm pretty sure I won't need a plate. Thanks.

Plates are not required when doing the Shelby mod. The plates are primarily jigs to help locate the holes.

You can use a paper template to mark it or you can measure 1" down from the lower holes and then either 1/8" forward (or to the rear, depending on the side of the car.)

Go ahead and have the hole wielded, but first make sure that there isn't any other reason to doubt the strenght of the shock tower.

So when its the driver's side I go 1/8" to the rear and the passenger is going forward an 1/8"?

The Shelby drop on a 65/66 is down 1" and back 1/8" on both sides. This is done to gain more caster as well as a better camber curve

My BAD, As mentioned by the other poster's, the holes get relocated to the rear.
