Quite a bit actually. We had this issue with a BB dodge engine. It went from struggling to break the tires loose to easily shreading them. Another issue you can be having if you secondary's are opening and no fuel is being added is you can start to run lean because there is extra air and no fuel. It could be a bad thing.
Assuming there is nothing mechanically wrong with the throttle shaft assembly, fuel bowls, air horn, metering plates, etc, etc....you should be able to fix this problem (and it is a big problem) rather easily. Holley sells "Trick Kits" which are pretty much a complete rebuild in a box with an exploded diagram and everything.
