Holley carburetors and AOD transmission.

As some of you know I have Lentech building me a transmission.
Everything I have been reading says that the TV cable is not compatible with a Holley carb. The transmission is supposed to be here by the 1st week in September and I’m trying to get everything I need to have it installed. Any help, or suggestions are very welcome.

I am going to, but thought some of you all had probably been through this issue before. Was hoping that I could be tipped off to any other bull that might arise.

Very few here are using a carb. Very few are modding an AOD transmission. Even fewer are modding a holley carbed/AOD trans combo...I’m just gonna sit an wait n see who comes to the rescue.

Yes—I’m a 72 year old senile old fart. .
When I decided to put the new engine in it I wanted to be able to work on it like the old days. Wanted to keep things simple. At one time they had a AOD carb setup. It’s gonna happen again. I HOPE

I took the car to the shop that is going to install everything today. He told me to check on Lokar too. I’m gonna do as you said, and call Holley, Lentech also.
Just thought someone around here might have already done what I’m doing.
I really do appreciate the help you all have already given me on this site.

I slapped a Holley 4-barrel on an '84 F150 I had with an AOD. What I ended up using was this cable from Lokar: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/...MIg8rl0_Hu6gIVDdbACh0dmw1iEAQYAiABEgL2GvD_BwE and this bracket https://www.summitracing.com/parts/lok-srk-4003. You'll also need an oil pressure gauge to connect to the TV test port on the AOD to adjust the cable correctly. This kit from Harbor Freight works well enough for the job: https://www.harborfreight.com/engine-oil-pressure-test-kit-62621.html

Here's Lokar's instructions on how to install the cable, follow them TO THE LETTER.

When it comes to carbs and aod transmissions I would have to hunt down someone like, ahhh, like, ahhh nevermind, he already answered.

The shop that is installing it came highly recommended. He knows about the pressure, and all that—he was wondering about the Carb hockup too..

I did a 65 Mustang fastback with Holley and an AOD. Lokar is your friend. Just get all the parts and follow the instructions.
