I've got a holley fuel pressure regulator that I installed the instructions say you can set the fuel pressure from 35-65psi. I'm trying to set the fuel pressure with vacume off at 38 psi but the fuel pressure regulator won't go any lower than 40 psi. Does anybody have any ideas that could help.

Yep,go back to the stock regulator..I adjustable regulator is a waste of money. No need for one..

I run a 255lph high pressure pump with a stock regulator with no issue.

I had a stock one on it the only reason I changed it was because the tuner thats going to dyno tune my car said it would be a good idea to have one. He said it would make it easier to tune.

They are not a waste of money. What if his set up requires something different than the stock setting. Not all Mustangs/cars require the same things. Different combos, different rules.

Powernexcess, how are u checking the pressure? (I mean are u sure that ur guage is correct?)

I've only got the one gauge last time I used it the gauge worked great. I wish I had another gauge to make sure my gauge is good. I thought maybe the fuel pressure regulator adjustment screw was off or something.

Shouldn't be but is completely possible. Most companies (holley is a great fuel part company) test their products many times for quality contol. Best bet is to call their support line and see if they have any ideas. Are u plugging off the vac line as well? this could mess with things.

Ya I pluged the vacume line, but didn't seem to make a diffrence. I'm taking it to get dyno tuned in the morning so I hope this does not cause a problem. Event at 40 psi the car does idle better than with the oem regulator.

The oe reg is like 37-38 (i think) so u may need more pressure if you have a lot of mods, but u most likely need to lower the pressure with a bigger pump/injectors.

What kind of mods do you have?

If he needs one or his tuner needs one .ITS A TEMP FIX,if his tuner is suggesting he needs one ,HE IS A HACK tuner...Bumping up the fuel pressure by the regulator will be take out by the ecu after a few miles of driving it..

ANY stang that is tuned PROPERLY aka chip, doesnt need the fuel pressure adjusted.. As long as the regulator is doing its job, anything else can be tuned out with a chip.

Personally,You should go to bigger injectors and dump the fmu(which you probably have).THen get it properly tuned.

If you tune a supercharged car VIA the fuel pressure regulator ,plan on it running LEAN after driving it awhile..But its not my money going down the drain.

Wow, I missed the S/C there....... Guess I need to read fully. Yes, dump the FMU and get a real tune via chip or tweecer R/t.

Pm comming your way power.

you might have a block in return line that will usually keep fuel pressure up, ditch the FMU and jump up to 36's
