Hopefully this is considered tech.

I currently have the Holley Systemax complete kit. I'm doing some cleanup work on my engine and thinking about swapping valve covers to something a little nicer looking. I've debated just having mine powder coated, but I think I'd like something with more style.

Anyways, does anyone know what valve covers will clear the Holley upper manifold while using the Holley heads??

Per the instructions, it says

Must use Holley 241–81 valve covers, NOS Big Shot, Plate kit or a phenolic spacer for proper Manifold to valve cover clearance.

I'm not sure this is entireely accurate because I currently have different VC's on it, made by Comp Cams...not sure the model.

Inside clearance might also be an issue since I'm 99% sure they had to use roller rockers with these heads.

Soooo.....does anyone know anything about these heads/manifold and what sort of valve clearance I might need on the inside, yet low enough to clear the manifold?

Any specific VC's would be great! Trying to find something a little nicer looking.

Thanks peeps!

Sorry to keep bumping this thread....but I wanted to post what I found out in case anyone ever comes across this thread in a search. I know the Holley setups are a little rarer around these parts.

I have 1.7 rockers and huge springs.....stock VC's did not fit, not even close. The springs hit the wall of the VC first. I might have been able to completely strip out the inside of the VC, but not worth the hassle.
