Ok I was removing my factory springs yesterday and the pass side went very well...Then when I did the drivers side the springs came out all to easy..I got to looking and the bottom coil was broken off! I think this was causing some front end noise before ..anyways..I took it out and was cutting the springs and already had done 1 and a 1/4 on the pass side so on drivers side I simply cut a quater off the top and had to hope it holds up...what causes a coil to break like that? Is it normal? I was jsut kind of shocked and was wondering ..

This is't all that uncommon in this vintage of Ford and it's not Musatng specific. Tauruseseseses and Windstars to it too.

I think I have something amiss in mine too because on some bumps and hard breaking I get a loud thump from the front driver's side. I need to check mine out.

It is quite possible if you ask me..thats what mine did

I still have to lower the back ..most likely tmrw someitme but as soon as I get pics I will post them in the talk section..the front look so awesome..I removed isolators top and bottom and cut about a coil and a half..no camber problems and rides same as factory and still quiet with no bounce..cant wait to do the back
