Homemade Power Pipe; UPR Power Pipe

I should have posted this in the Superchargers forum but I figured more people are here than over there. Anyways, has anyone made a power pipe thereselves? I have access to a welder and all that, a friend of mine is a good welder. If no one has done it, then what about the UPR power pipe? I am sure the AFM is better(just guessing) but I refuse to pay $250 for a piece of metal, considering my funds. I want to see 7-9psi, with this thing. Since I never got my intake I bought, I believe im going to get a TMOSS lower. Sure its not as good as a good intake but oh well, do the best you can. Thanks

P.S. I have a friend thats going to sell me some #30 injectors. How much are Pro-M 80mm going for new and used?

if you can find a nice 4" elbow and get a good welder with a little thought it could happen. for maybe 20 dollars verse 250 but the upr peice might have a by-pass valve bung not sure. as for the pro-m's i think they go for 300ish.

Ahh im getting the injectors for $100 and I can buy a new 75mm Bullet for $180 brand new.

Just went to UPR's website and they are selling them for $99 now. Sounds like a good deal to me.

Hey man, you either have a lot of money, or a lot of time. If you have both, send me some cash dammit!

I prefer to fabricate stuff rather than buy whenever I can. Considering you have the skills to pull it off, I would vote for making it yourself.

The UPR has the bypass bung. I have this pipe, and it works great. I hear it's better than the metal one because it's not so prone to heat absorbtion. And it fits great, after you cut the hole in the fender.

I just paid $220 for a 80mm Pro-M meter BRAND NEW! (Their on sale now ) Also soon ordering the Upr Powerpipe for $100. I hope my boost goes up.. I'll let you guys know how it goes when I get it all installed!

I can't say I gained any boost on my car, because I got my blower with the power pipe. I have the stock Vortech crank pulley, and a 3.12" blower pulley. I figure on a stock engine it should make 8psi. On my engine I make 6psi. But the power pipe is definately nice. I also have a 80mm Pro-m, and it fits right into the power pipe like a glove

Where did you buy your Pro-M at? I emailed a couple of advertisers on Corral and im still waiting for a reply. I believe im going to go ahead and order the UPR Pipe tomorrow.

I bought my 80mm from cool blue performance for $199 but its back to regualr price again $249.00 you missed the sale by about 1 month.

For starters I used a 3" mandrel bent U shaped peice of exhaust pipe from summit for $30 and a furnco fitting from lowes for $6. Just cut the pipe and rewelded it to run the tubing out the port in the fenderwell and put the maf meter out there with a cone filter. Worked pretty well. Eventually fabbed it out of stainless dairy pipe and it even looks good.

I just got a returned email from Cool Blue Performance and they said a price of $239. How was this company to deal with? How good is the 80mm Meter? Im either going to get the 80 or the 75 Bullet, ive heard the 80 is best and its only $40 or so more. Thanks

I've bought my 80mm maf, and my spec stage 3 clutch from them and there was no complaints. They shipped it really fast, and they communicate with you unlike some other companies i've delt with.

You might want to try emailing then this link to the corral forum they might give you the $195 price that they were asking for back then, never know might go for it and get it 40 bux cheapier

The plastic shorty 80mm is a wise choice.....

As far as the pipe, as mentioned above it has the bypass fitting in it so you will need a bypass valve and hosing or you will need to cap off the fitting on the UPR plastic pipe.

If you want more boost swap out the crank pulley for a 7" Diameter pulley, you'll see a few more pounds.

Yeah, I have emailed a good amount of sellers about buying a aluminum discharge tube with bypass. So they all said they will call Vortech tomorrow and find out a price for me.

Right now, Im trying to build a good "foundation" for whats to come.

Here is the company that I got my 80mm MAF from. The guys name is Alfredo Cross. He has some nice custom aluminum discharge tubes for around $50 also. He told me he is currently working on a custom intercooler for the Vortech supercharger that would be similar to the Procharger intercoolers. As for powerpipes I got a UPR aluminum boostmaster pipe for $150 at Atlanta FFW. If you were not in a hurry you could call and have them bring one to one of the FFW events and just pick it up in person. That is what I did since they normally don't bring the aluminum pipes. That way you could see the aluminum and plastic pipe in person before deciding. They are both nice pieces. The aluminum comes powdercoated silver but could easily be stripped and polished out.

i bought my boostmaster pipe from upr for $99, and my 80maf from coolblue, my bypass valve is a bosh that I bought from superchargersonline.com for $$99 beans
