Homemade Rear Seat delete pics

I thought about getting construction paper and making a template of the wood frame but I didnt bother.
The dimensions needed can change depending upon how the lower part is mounted (because the back part is angled, the height changes how far out the RSD sits over the front lip). I made brackets to hold the bottom of mine in place and have it tilt backwards just a hair to help crap from rolling forward.

That RSD looks nice, good job of piecing that together. I rarely have anyone in my backseat but I'm not sure that I care about the weight savings enough to worry about taking 'em out, but it is something I have thought about. In any case, nicely done.

THE Green GT, Do those free air 12's actually sound good? I have thought about putting a box in later. Just put in a wedge box, shouldn't be to hard to get the angle right and once set the box in the right place i will just screw the box to the back and then cut out my holes from the front. If i decide to put them in the port(s) will be the hardest part. But i can just have the port(s) maid already and just use a router to cut them out from the back plate. (heck i could just use the router on everything now that i think about it)

You gave me a great idea on the free space under seats now. Im going to mount and wire my msd box and my pms under there. I will carpet the space under there and put plexy glass spots to look through. This may be going overboard but I might put some l.e.d's in there that light up the area so when you look down you could see them.

I have been thinking about this lately and i have been looking for a better place to put that stuff besides under my passanger seat. Now i have a place i could half way show it off. (I need to see if my pms cable is long enough to reach.)

Doing your own custom work is always gratifying. I couldn't see spending the cash for one already made. Then you're dealing with mail order BS.

yes, they actually sound great. I dont really listen to music that "beats" though, so I guess it depends on what kind of music you listen too. I listen to mostly classic rock.

I'm too lazy to scroll back, but if mounting electrical components under the RSD bottom, one thing to consider is the lack of air flow. I dont know how sensitive stuff like a PMS is (in the summer here, the thermometer inside the car can read 160+*F. No airflow or AC reaching components might be bad).

Yea it get hot as **** down here. I burned my hand on my shifter handle the other day.

i would much reather have the msd in the back hidden then under the hood were i find most people put them.. I don't understand that at all... I moved mine after my first one went bad. Haven't had a problem sence. When a shifter nob gets hot to the touch its because its usually in direct sun light. Same with leather seats..

Yea but when i get in my car after work, I have to turn it on with the A/C on full blast and let it sit with me out of the car for atleast a minute. Its so hot in there I cant breathe.

I'm not sure how others did it...................

On mine I put a stop in the metal frame; it stops the RSD before the tabs. Then I put a retention latch to keep the RSD from falling forward.
