The stock 94 GT hood doesn't clear my trickflow intake by about an inch. Does the Cobra hood have better clearance then the GT hood? dumb question but I have to ask..

the cobra hood is the same as a gt hood. the cobra R hood that wystang provided a link for can come from nice to obnoxious.

This was supposed to be the family fun convertable but Dad (me) had to hop it up. Mom (my wife) is mad becuase she does not want the big ugly hood as she calls it. I went with the Street Heat intake. Other mods are Roush 200 heads, E303 cam, Crane cams rollers, BBK 70mm tb, C&L MAF, 155lph Fuel Pump w/ regulator, BBK shorties, Pypes X, Flowmaster Cats, King Cobra clutch, remanufactured T5 w/ Pro 5.0 shifter, 3:55 gears. I think she's gonna love driving it, she just dont know it yet..

I kinda think something is different with your 94

Bunches of peeps run the TF intakes and I don't ever remember anyone posting up anything like this.

I run an Edel RPM and I'm pretty sure it sits a bit taller than the TF intakes. I did nothing to the hood and still run the blanket.

Have you done something to make your motor sit higher

i had a trick flow street heat upper and lower and it fit fine under my hood as well. i have a cobra hood, but according to bimmertech the clearance is the same. i'm not doubting him at all, but i just don't have any personal experience to support the statement. to me it looks like it might provide about an inch or so more clearance.

either way though, as grady says, alot of people run TF stuff and don't have clearance issues

do you have a spacer between the upper and the lower by any chance?

btw, welcome to the forum! i hope she loves driving it too ... my wife hates mine. she doesn't like driving a stick and she says it is too loud
