HOOD FLEW OPEND as i was cruising down the highway!!

No, happened 3 times to my first stang, 89 GT, and once to the newer one, no damage to the hood, only bend the cowl, fixed and all better now(2.5 yrs ago)

Yepp VERY lucky!! here is mine a week after i got my paintjob.. Took out my windshield, both cowl panels, plastic grille, and both my wipers.. It was too much a hassle to fix, soo it is banged up as best as i could.. you can still tell something happened however..

how much did it coast to fix? and how much you think if i took it too a body shop for both cowl panels, plastic grille, and both my wipers

Frankie, I hope your friend is going to help you pay any of the damages. Its completely fixable, It happened to me on 4 different occasions. Good luck

I agree, i have seen the pic of other mustangs that this has happen to, and they look bad.

Anyone use those Mr. Gasket locking pins, I am getting a hood soon and I aslo hate the look of hood pins. They look like the car has nipples.

they wants 600 to cut mine out and weld a new one in and paint it... i just banged mine up as good as possible and left it like that.. live n learn...

Anyone use those Mr. Gasket locking pins, I am getting a hood soon and I aslo hate the look of hood pins. They look like the car has nipples.

from my experience anything from mr gasket is usually cheap metal and will rust. these could be diff, but i dont see any reason why they would. just buy the expensive stainless steel hood pins or hardware.

I used them on my 88 GT for 5 years because of the same reasons. I never had a problem with them.
