The hood is going to need to be replaced, as well as the cowl. The metal parts around the cowl unfortunately isn't something that you can buy. You are going to have to go to a body shop for that part. It isn't a cheap thing to fix, sorry.

If you don't mind some bondo, that is a prime use for it. To replace that panel with a new one like most body shops want to do would run you good amount, well over $1,000 or so. I've seen quotes for the complete repair - new cowl and hood and repaint, of over $2200. Have to remove dash, windshield, all the under hood stuff by the cowl, fenders, etc.

You might get someone to cut out the two side parts and weld in new pieces, or just pull it out as best as can be done and use some bondo to smooth it. I have the same thing on mine, I'll pull it out myself and have my body guy (small shop independent guy) repair it with my repaint. I've seen some repairs with filler and they were not bad.

Good luck, and I know EXACTLY how you feel.

the same happened to me, i bondoed the metal part of the cowling, which looks great without cracks too, and replaced the plastic cowl for a cheap one which i sprayed painted with black. i found a deal when i saw a 5.0 hood in the paper for $20 and it was perfect. so keeping our eyes out for a parting out 5.0 is your best bet because junk yards can get too damn expensive.

Don't go to A-1, they have a horrible reputation. Take it to either Mr. Touch Up or Councours Collision. They both do great work, and have great reputations.

You've got to believe me when I say; I 'm really sorry to hear about your mishap, and I wished that there was some way that I could help you.
I’ve also got to give you all the credit in the world for admitting that you didn't dbl check and make sure that the hood was closed properly, so for that I've give you a .

Versus where I’ve read so many times over the years that there was malfunction with the locking mechanism and you need hood pins or locks with the hood, or any other hood.

This sucks....

SO what I think I will do is buy a new hood and plastic cowl peice..and take it into a bodyshop to fix the metal between the hood and windshield and paint that and the hood.

Anyone have an estimate on what that should cost me? I think i will take it to Mr. Touchup and concours like blood said and see if i can get an estimate.

This sucks becuase i am BROKE!!!!

Anyone else have any comments/suggestions?
