looking to put a hood lock on my 66 and wanted to get some input from anyone who has one: where they got it, or how they built it, and what type they suggest.

my only experience is with the chain/cable and a padlock, is this pretty much it?

thanks

Chapman used to make a nice one that was cable actuated from under the dash. It also had an ignition kill and used a circular type key lock.

I can't find one from Chapamn anymore but did come accross this: Hood Lock

I got my Inside Release Hood Lock Kit from California Mustang for my 1966. I haven't installed it yet but I plan to within the next month. Here is the part #:

California Mustang
Inside Release Hood Lock Kit part #16916 $34.95

We adapted one from a '70s big Oldsmobile. It's the cable release type (with the handle under the dash) and bolted in with no modifications at all. Even the mounting bolt holes lined up. Simply adjusted it to grab the hood catch. Price: $5 from the u-pull-it yard. :nice:
