Does anybody have any ideas On how to modify a gt hood to clear my s/c

It's an 01 with a Tork tech intercooled mp112 with stock internals #42 injectors 255 lPh pump and a 90 mm maf. I suppose I should Put that at the bottom of every post.

Not sure why it wouldnt fit under the stock hood but yoy should be able to gain more clearance by pulling the black heat shield thing off and cutting the bracing on the underside of the hood

different motor mounts, heard some lower the motor up to 1.5"

Note: Our kit design includes a separate belt drive for the supercharger so we move the blower forward to clear the accessory belt. This give numerous benefits but one drawback...the hood does not clear the nose of the supercharger Virtually any aftermarket hood with a 1" or more raise will clear our kit. This includes the factory '03/04 Cobra hood, Cobra R type hoods, or equivalent design will also provide proper clearance

they use to have directions on how to modify the stock hood to fit but I can not find it anymore......Looks like a great time/excuse to buy a cowl hood

Is this accurate? Would there not be bottoming out issues after this? Work with the stock driveshaft?

Upr makes k member spacers that will drop your k member a little for extra hood clearance...everyone i know that uses them havnt had any issues

The problem with these kits is they negatively impact the steering geometry. When you lower a Mustang the tie rods already point slightly upwards, and adding this spacer will actually increase the distance between the tire and front fenderwell. Therefore, to maintain the lowered stance you'll need to lower the car 3-4" over stock which has the side effect of substantially increasing the bump steer.

Honestly, unless you're running a race car that sits higher in front than in back, I think your best bet is to look for a small cowl hood, such as the '95 Cobra R hood or the '00 R hood. IMO, the '95 R hood looks great on all SN-95s (both aeros and new edges).

So, is there an aftermarket K-Member that would lower the engine but not the tie rods mounting locations?

not running it myself, did a quick search on lowering engine and came across that. I would think that it throws the front suspension off a bit but with some adjustable aftermarket parts it can be corrected.

But unless you really want to keep the stock hood for some reason i would just get an aftermarket hood

I was more thinking that I liked the idea of lowering the center of gravity...if easily enough done.

I think I'll probably go with n8dogs suggestion and go with the cobra hood.
