I need hood pins on my car real bad...I bought the dr. gas set and Jeff at All Ford told me how to do it...But each time I start to try...I get afraid of botching the hood so I think I would rather have it done professionally...But every place I call body shop or other custom shops say they can't or won't do it...Where do I go to have this service done...?? The only place I have found that will do it is Maaco...and I have never really had much confidence in them...

If I'm asking the obvious... please excuse me.

Have you asked Jeff to do it? I trust Jeff with everything on my Mustang. Even my wife.

Am I the only one that thought "The hood..." when I saw the question?

I had Krazy Koncepts do mine as they were right down the street from the bodyshop that painted the hood. Jeff can do them at AFP also.

Dude its very easy. You just have to start out very slow. Not sure which look you're after but I used the bumpers on both ends of the radiator upper support.
I'll try to post up a pic. I also drilled from the bottom of the hood and taped off the top so the paint didnt flake/ chip off. Came out very nice for me.
I couldnt find my old pics but this will give you an idea. Totally remove the bumper and the plastic part and you'll have a nice hole to start with. After that you just need to measure and remeasure allot! Dont forget to make sure the pins are parallel and vertical.

Thats pretty much what I explained to him as well, but I dont think he is comfortable doing it himself, and we just dont do hood pins. Its an easy job but if something happens I dont want to be liable.

Agreed, not to mention fiberglass splinters like crazy when you drill it. Just not getting a fiberglass sliver is SO worth having someone else do it
