I haven't had a hood prop retainer in forever. Decided I'd like to get one again. Apparently I can't find one that fits.

Got this one labeled 79-93, and with an E8 part number, I thought it work.

E83Z-16828-A

Nope. Doesn't even fit into the spot my original went.

Now that I think about it, I think mine was metal. Did the early cars have metal retainer clips? Anyone got a pic?

The broken part of the plastic clip on my 89 is still stuck on the radiator support...

Yup, that's what my mounting area looks like. Guess mine was originally metal. Found what I needed so finally I can have a clip again. Thanks for the pic. Really helped me remember 15 years ago or so

I was considering it. Until then, correct hood clip should be arriving Wed....along with a few other items from LRS I needed for the car.

As much as I'd like to do the lifts now, I came across a clean set of OEM SN95 rims on CL. I think after 15 years on the car, the 1997 Cobra wheels are going to be retired to backup wheel status shortly. Once I get them mounted up, i'll reveal what I went with.

Well after I rip my heads and intake off and fancy everything up, it will be first on the list.

I'm more interested about that plate on your rad support. Who makes that awesome piece of hardware

That looks like a Scott Rod panel.... I could be wrong though, it wouldn't be the first time. Lol

Oh yes, that is all I need is another pair of gas struts that get cold and weak. That way, the hatch and the hood can sag for me to split my scalp on!
I do like the radiator gap cover.

You Sir have been watching too much "Maximum Overdrive". Your car is not trying to kill you.

Welp, no wheels. After spending a day or so setting up to go meet the guy to get them this afternoon, he text me 1 hr before I left to tell me he sold them to someone else who contacted him and was local.

A little pissed

I will try to remember that next time I am on the garage floor seeing stars.

I really like that King movie. But I am picturing the assembly line scene in "Christine" where a greasy guy has his hand on the grille or radiator support. Watch your fingers too!

I want to measure mine. It doesn't look that tall.

Please say tri bars. I hate waffle wheels. Polished split spokes are nice too.
