Cheap hoods aren't good, good hoods aren't cheap.

I'd try the classifieds or Craigslist if you have to get something cheap, so hopefully you can get a decent hood for the same price as a POS hood.

Craigslist, my dads 4" I got for $80, and he was able to get it made to look right for free, and painted cheap.

Yeah Craigslist for sure. You may also want to check ebay, and do a modified search for "nearest first", and see what comes up for Mustang hoods. You may be able to find one in driving distance, and not have to pay for shipping.

Most of the cheap hoods are garbage, and need a ton of work to look presentable. Another thing is safety. After going 100 mph a couple times with it vibrating in the wind I ditched one. Get a good quality hood if you can.

Ok well I been looking around and found this hood on ebay.. Although it doesn't really have a brand or anything, so Idk if the quality would be very good..

What do you think?

Also Idk if this would even clear for the 351w? I heard it had to be a 2.5 inch minimum but I don't remember for sure..

If it was me I wouldn't touch it, but that just me . I would worry about delam from these ebay hoods and getting them to stand by the product, keep searching or do yourself a favor and save the beans up for a cervini or a H.O. fibertrends. The xtra bodywork needed to make these low cost hoods look good would end up costing the same has a top qaulity hood in the end!

HO fibertrends hoods are cheap and very nice quality.

semi-finished underneath and fits the fender lines and gaps well.

I think it was around $420 to shipped , make sure to get it delivered to a drop off location, it's $60 cheaper to pick it up than to have it dropped off at your doorstep.

ok so a guy is selling a couple hoods here locally. They are both from a brand know as carbonware. Website is carbonware.com

Anyone have any experience with these hoods?

Also the guy is asking 400... seems high since they are about 450 brand new

One is painted and has holes for the hood pins for the front. It looks like the cobra r hood with the scoop in the middle. Then the other one is the Mach 1 hood which is not painted and never been installed

Oh and both are bolt on but im sure you already figured that out if you went to the site..lol

Yeah, The site looks legit, and I did a quick web search to see if there was any bad reviews, nothing bad came up. I would go with the Mach 1 style. Either way, I would use hood pins for safety if you get a glass hood.
