Hoodpin Cables...yes or no...

Does anybody use hood-pin cables on their car?

At speed, do the cables rub against the paint on the hood? I dont like the idea of just having the pins on there, so im probably going to get some cables, unless they are notorious for scratching paint...

Get part # "TRD-4054" from Summit. They're like $5, and are plastic coated, so they don't rub the paint. I've been running cables for a couple years with ZERO problems.

They are a must IMO.
I got tired of forgetting where I had left them before I got cables.
Just make they have a pastic coating...

Mine were really cracked when I bought the car. Found the cable at the local hardware store. Mine rub but does not scratch, a quick polish takes the marks right off.

hoodpins=cool, and the cables make it easier to keep track of them. I would definately get them.

Got the coated cables and the pins. Stainless is better than chrome due to rust .

I do believe that this type was for the 1970 model, as I have only seen them on the '70 body style and the regular hood pins on the '69 model, do correct me if I'm wrong, but I do believe this is correct.

I have seen both on 1969's. Twist lock and pin/cable.

just make sure you don't get those cheap locking ones through autozone/kragen autoparts stores. my buddy lost his hood using those P-O-S's the pin in the lock move on him.
