I'm haveing nothing but fits with this setup. I have a 302 in my 65 coupe and I have hooker comp headers. We'll I call jegs and order the flowmaster exhaust for the coupe. I go to put the heads on last weekend and the dang headers are wider than the exhaust, by like 2 inches! We'll we call flowmaster and ask them if the ball flanges they have will make up the diffrence, they say yes, well they don't. The only other options I have is cutting the h pipe but I think that would put tubes close to or outside the tunnel. The other option I'm thinking of is getting some pipe and running it from the headers to the exhaust and haveing it custom bent if I can find somebody to do it.

Anybody else have this problem or am I missing something really simple.

"Ball Joints"??? What does that have to do with headers? Do yourself a favor, get some tri-y's.

Or take it to an exhaust shop and have them custom fit a system for you...maybe about $300

I believe hes talking about ball flanges typically found on the end of headers

anyways is this original exhaust tubing or a kit from flowmaster?

On mine, I just had to heat up the Flowmaster h-pipe on the driver's side and put a jack between the pipes and spread it apart to get it to align. Make sure to put a block between the pipes on the muffler end of the h-pipe when you do this. Then repeat this process with the pasenger side. Once this was done, it just took a little trimming and welding to get the reducers to align.

ah, well if it was a kit for that other motor and now youve changed that would be good reason it dont fit, id try to modify the exsisting ehxaust system than rather add more on it

I've got Hooker comps and flowmaster h-pipe back on my 66. I had the exact same fitment issues. I took mine to a nearby muffler shop and they cut a little of the h pipe and welded a 2 1/2" section from there to the header collector. $40 later and I was on the road.
