I had to pull out my dimmer switch to get to those wires. I believe the wire I spliced into was blue with a white stripe.

A multimeter is a VERY handy tool to have for a lot of checks/mods on our cars. When you have the gauges out there are two bolts holding the headlight knob and assembly in - just remove them and probe the wires until you find the one that changes voltage as you rotate the knob - that's your guy.

I used a fuse tap at the fuse box on my 2001 GT. I forget what number fuse it was (#37 rings a bell), but it's listed in the owner's manual as "adjustable illumination". Now the guages in the A-pillar dim with the dash lights.

I got it at PepBoys. The one I got was made by Littelfuse, I think. It replaces the fuse and actually adds another circuit to the fuse box. You remove the fuse and replace it with the tap. the tap has two spaces for fuses. One for the original circuit and one for the new one. There's also a wire preattached that you connect to the lead from the guages. I used two of these for the guages (one for the illumination and one for the power). Works well and doesn't overload anything. I think they were about $9 each. The only down side is you can't put the cover back on the fuse box.

If you're at the front of the car looking in at the engine bay, you will notice there are some 1/8" red plastic lines near the injectors and the intake. These are probably wrapped in blaack tubing. You just have to look for them. Any of these red lines will do fine. I just bought a T-fitting from autozone and hooked my boost line in there. You might have to get a couple of adapters to make the lines fit snug with the T-fitting. Good luck, dude`

LOL I did the same thing......bout a month later, I couldn't figure out why my wipers would work....I just jiggled the fuse tap and they worked again. Just make sure that you have the fuse tap secure, or the vibration from the car might jiggle it loose.
