i am wondering what i am putting down to the wheels for horsepower and torque. i am sure that there is someone on here with a similar setup that i have. and i havent had it tuned and i want to know what to expect when i go get it tuned this spring. here is my setup:

2000 GT
vortech SQ-Trim(8-10 psi)
Mac LT's with a prochamber with a 2.5" full exhaust(cat free)
I also installed a forged stroker kit (was told the kit would put it at just over 300 ci)
completely stock heads
33 lb injectors(30 or 33, whatever comes with the vortech kit)
bigger fuel pump(whatever comes with the vortech kit)
i also have 100 shot of nitrous but of course that isnt always in use. i have seen some huge numbers from guys who have used nitrous though. anyone know what 100 shot can put down exactly?
it also has had the ECU sent to vortech so they could program it. this was when the entire car was completely stock other than the blower. so i am sure it could use a good tune.

i was thinking 350+ w/o NOS... sound close to anyone or am i way off?!?

that quarter mile time is on the stock block with stock exhaust. running nitrous and a supercharger only... nuff said as too why i had to put in a forged stroker kit! although it was knocking before the NOS... but i just wanted to feel the power of the laughy gas. ran through a whole bottle of NOS(10 lb bottle). before the knocking got too bad to deal with. turned out that i spun a bearing. go figure! haha

I would say around 400, but i'm not sure because I don't think ive seen any numbers from people who have strokers

that is what i was hoping to put down... HOPING of course...
i am also running an aluminum flywheel and a king cobra clutch... flywheel makes it crazy touchy! so that frees up some HP but not much.

A few things you should do if you want to safely make power and not blow you motor again.

Get bigger injectors, 33s with nitrous is not going to be very safe, I would say they are right on the edge or already over, I think 42s are good for 550-600rwhp. Vortech uses a FMU (Fuel Management Upgrade) get rid of that and get a SVT Focus Fuel Pump or better yet Cobra Tank and pumps. What do you have for a MAF if your still running the stock one ditch that for a Lightning MAF or once again if you want to go all out a SCT 2400MAF. MOST IMPORTANTLY GET A REAL TUNE!!!! Vortech tunes suck, go to a real tuner and have him burn you a tune with and with out nitrous. Then you can switch back and forth and make the most power on and off the bottle.

If you don’t want to buy another forged stroker kit for your car you better at least get that thing tuned plus then you’ll know exactly what your making.

EDIT: A intercooler wouldn't hurt either then you could pulley down too.

yeah i have the stock MAF...

i am not trying to put any more money into it(looking for a house)... but i will eventually get a tune... i am having a problem with 2 cylinder misses(thinks its electrical...

do you really think that these upgrades are necessary if i do absolutely nothing else to it. its not like i will be spraying all the time! injectors could be a semi-cheap investment. but would i be alright with a conservative tune????

oh yeah... if i were to blow the forged motor than the whole car will get rolled over a very high cliff... haha

YES THE UPGRADES ARE NECESSARY.

Well if you don’t want to blow another motor atleast. To be honest with you I would have compression test done because you very well could have damaged something already and that’s what’s messing up your #3 and #5 cylinders. Not saying it is for sure but its hard telling.

First clear this up for me incase I misunderstood when was the last tune you had for your car? The one Vortech since you for just the blower?

Here is what you need to understand, the stock MAF can be maxed out with just the blower or very shortly after with a few mods, let alone nitrous. Maxed out MAF means lean AF. The stock fuel pump can be also maxed out very easily not sure exact numbers but I would say in the 3XXrwhp sine the SVT Focus pumps maxes out around 400-450rwhp. Maxed out fuel pump means lean AF. The tune with a blower is very important adding more boost or increasing air flow with throw off your AF which leans it. LEAN=BAD Spraying nitrous on a blower car (Dual PAs) will A LOT of power. Nitrous will lean out a blower drastically. I actually surprised your motor lasted as long as it did. When you heard knock you shouldn’t have went WOT again until you had that fixed. KNOCK=BAD.

I must ask did you do all this by your self with out any help as far as what you need to run the setup safely.

If so you REALLY need to start asking questions here or at a local Performance Shop because trust me you will blower your motor again if you keep up what your doing. I don’t care if you have a built motor or not you if you run stupid lean AF you’re going blow the motor.

SO AT THE ABSOLUTE MINIMUM YOU NEED:

SCT2400 MAF
Cobra Tank and Pumps
42lb Injectors
REAL Custom Dyno Tune from a Performance Shop

i believe i am safe to not have blown the motor again. i ran the nitrous and the supercharger before the rebuild... but after the rebuild i never got the bottle refilled. so i have not sprayed since the rebuild. i have not really even tromped on it yet. because the valve seals were leaking oil. so it would smoke heavily. so soon after realizing that i tore the car back down and did valve seals. after the seals it started missing in those cylinders. also, i did do all the work myself. i am not one to ask unless i have problems. and now i have problems. but i did a darn good job for not knowing anything about motors before i started. i built the whole bottom end and a full exhaust for under $3000. and you are correct in saying the only tune i had was the one vortech did.

but i do not believe i leaned the car out because like i said i have not really got on it since the rebuild... unless you guys may think other wise. but the car runs and sounds good... other than the 2 cylinder miss!

how will you learn if you don't do it yourself! haha

this may be a stupid question... but i will ask it anyways... cause i dont want my motor and all my work to go down the tubes...

by MAF you mean the mass air flow sensor... and if so is it as easy as just changing the plug on the intake side of the blower???? which is also not the stock one than because that is what came with the blower. so maybe, not sure, it is aftermarket, but probably still not sufficient for the setup...

i am pretty sure its what you are talking about but it seems too easy to just change that, the injectors and fuel pump and be safe to run with a tune. all that would take what maybe 2 hours???? and i am jepordizing my motor for that... doesnt seem that easy!!! if you know what i mean?!?

so let me know if i am an idiot or not... haha...

thanks guys you have been a huge help....

oh yeah... the reason i just slapped all this on is because i was tired of $2000 ricers with a turbo beating the stock rocket. so i got blown and still lost to higher class cars... trans ams and camaro's. but i would only lose because they were spraying. so i made it fair. then i couldnt even get anyone to race.

like i said earlier. i trapped 116 mph with a 2.2 60' time. i dogged it so bad! my car stock ran a 13.9 @ 100.29 mph stock.my brother ran it that run. not sure of another GT to get into the 13's on a bone stock car. not even a k&n air filter

but a 4.6l with nitrous and a supercharger has crazy power on the highway... if you have never experienced it... you need too. hahaha

sorry for the wrong thread. but i like talking mustangs and no one around here does!

I have no idea where to begin. But i would not run that car the way it sits now, without atleast going to dyno, and checking it out first.

In my opinion you need bigger injectors, fuel pump, maf, and a retune.

+1 TRILLION It kind of reminded me of the guy that put trany fluid in his motor. Its so messed up you're wondering if hes serious or not. LOL

Yes MAF means Mass Air Flow Sensor. It will be right after the air filter and just replace it with the new one, same with injectors and fuel pump. If your spray a 100 shot you nee the Cobra Tank and Pumps if not then you could prolly get by with a focus fuel pump. They are very small things to do but make your setup much safer. After that get it tuned and have fun and peace of mind knowing your driving a safe setup.

Trust me your motor will love you for these upgrades.

do yourself a favor and take jivepeppers advice

I guess my advice was nothing? LOL
