Does anyone else's engine bay get scorching hot?

After like 20 minutes of driving all my vacuum hoses and anything metal are hot enough to burn me.

I have a vortech on the engine and the only thing I could think of that'd cause the vacuum hoses to get hot is that my supercharger somehow got messed up. It's not making any weird noises or anything though...and still works great.

Just wondering if anyone else had hot vacuum hoses.

Thanks

haha, I knew someone was gonna say that.

Reason I ask is because I went to empty out my oil catcher thingy....and just the hoses for the pcv burnt that crap outta me....

Oh yeah, EVERYTHING under the hood of my car gets scorching hot. I also noticed today that the lower console area of the floor gets quite hot from the exhaust, and I can't touch the exhaust tips after a drive because they're extremely hot as well. Not that touching tailpipes when they're hot is something I'd normally do.....

When it's triple digits to start with, the engine need not have been run to take skin off. Mine gets retawdad hot too.

Nice tight packaging with the slant nose doesnt help. Toss on a blower like Clay has, and all bets are off (except that he can poach eggs under his hood).

Guess its just something I never noticed....I mean, I've never actually tried to touch stuff when it's hot lol....ah well.

I'm sure the longtubes don't help at all either.

eggs? pssh, I could cook you a steak on my intake manifold.

1tall: I know what you're saying about that center console...I'm about to get some dynamat around the base of the shifter (I don't have that rubber boot so it's even worse)

Now that I think about it....I'm gonna splurge on some dynamat and hit the firewall and floor areas too....it gets hotter than two hells in that car....and it's a black car with black leather :O

I guess I'll just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't get any hotter in there.

thanks for the input

Jet Hot coated long tubed and cut out a vent on the R hood (along the cowl) to help release/ease some of the temps. Like Rio5.0 did http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=566517

thanks for the tip. I've seen that done a few times before and it looks awesome.

I got the cervini's hood and it already has the cutouts and everything in it...don't know how functional it is though...I'll have to take a closer look at that one day.
