on my way home from work today, i pull up next to a late 80's camaro, we both go for it,and i smoked him from the start. when i get up around 85 or so, i look back and see hes about 5 carlenghts back so i let up of the gas,and BANG!! wicked back fire. car ran smooth the rest of the way home. how bad can this be or is no big deal. i do have an o/r hpie and flows if thats any help.

You weren't hitting nitrous, were you?

Pull the plugs and check them out, you are probably running a tad lean.

There are a million reasons why the car could have backfired, but since the motor still runs OK, I'd just say it was a freak thing.

wouldnt wast the juice on an old crapmaro,all motor,u think i should recheck my timing,thanks for the reply

A back fire from the exhuast is a rich not lean condition.

ya mine does that too and i have traced it back to my timing. im running to rich. oh well
