Yeah, sorry buddy but that SS will kill both your cars. Your T-Bird sounds fast and I have always wanted a SC but they are no match for a LS1. I have gone up against them a couple times and got spanked My Cobra makes 299.8rwhp and the ONLY time I got up on a 99 LS1 was a 40-80mph run and I pulled a car on him then at 80 he started to come up on me but we were comming up on traffic and backed off. Im sure by 100 we would of been side by side and 4V pull way harder up top than the 2V.

Just tell him that he will spank the stang, but at the end of the day he will still be driving around a car that closely resembles that of a catfish. That will rain on his parade for sure.

ls1's go mid to high 11's with traction, good driver, and decent weather with bolt ons. Add an ls6 intake, cam and say goodbye. Trap speeds in excess of 114 with bolt ons are very common.

v6 camaro= 16 second 1/4Mile

Even a npi should put a decent whooping on that.

The ls1 will kill you, if you had a blower on the stang, I would still put my money on him.

I think you could take a v6 camaro and start him at the 1/8th mile mark on a 1/4 mile track and id still beat him

You do realize that in order to do that you would have to run a 1/4 faster than his 1/8.

Lest just say At worst a v6 camaro will run 1/8 in like 11 seconds.

Unless you run 10s you would be in trouble

I know these LS1s are fast, but my stock SC destroyed one all the way through 2nd gear. After that he was gone, but if I had gears, exhaust, and the OD pulleys, I would have been neck and neck. Hell, I shocked a late 90s Formula the other day after I got my 315 Dr's on. I left hard and put a half of a car on him instantly, and kept it for a gear and a half.

If he can drive or even if he can't drive the LS1 will still win.

You will lose.

Now the irony. People talk about how bad the F-Body is when handling, yet the suspension it has stock from the factory is the same suspension you road racing Mustang owners put in your cars? Why is that?

because they still handle like crap?

(55/45 WD @ 3241lbs [3077lbs 96-98]) > (58/42 WD @ 3439)
WD: weight distribution

I think if i put 362lbs. of cinder blocks (mainly towards the front of the car) on my mustang that has "stock camaro suspension" it'd handle just like a camaro - you're right

That was a joke.. unless we were refering to a 2.8 or 3.1l camaro then it would most likely be true

I am just saying I find it funny that the Camaro's suspension of a SLA (front) coil over front spring/strut and TA/PHB/LCA (rear) is the same suspension all those road race Mustangs are putting on. The Mustangs rear suspension is horrible requiring it to do multiple tasks that it can't do.

put it this way i raced a stock c5 on my 100 shot and i didnt get him by much maybe 3-4 cars and that was it lol. that ls1 will destroy you. your stang is looking at high 14s in the 1/4 and that camaro will run 12.5s. I have seen stock ls1s with 6speeds running high 12s even. so except to get beat by 2 seconds or more.

oh and 1/8th mile wise a 12.5 is about an 8.0

Are you sure? You said it weighs around 3439 in the same thread. Guess what? They don't weight 3800 lbs. They weigh around 34xx-35xx
