how can i tell what trans i have?

Yes and no.

The T-45 doesnt have the issues that the 3650's seemed to be plauged with.

The T-3650 is stronger though, but the T-45's are still stronger than the old T-5's... which is all that matters, hahaha.

My T-45 is doing allright with 100k on it. Its definatly not the most refined trans, but its fine for me. The T-45's have a slightly higher 5th gear, so they tach a little higher on the highway... but not much.

Early 3650's have the same 5th gear as thre T-45

It's the 2003+ 3650's which have the taller 5th gear...0.63. It's the same as the Cobra's 6th gear.

It's really low and sometimes annoying to shift into since it's a 1500RPM drop while every other gear is about a 1000RPM drop (if you were to shift at 3000RPM)

It is pretty cool cruising at 2000RPM at 80MPH :D

Sweet, didnt know that.

I guess thats why alot of guys dont fear the gear with that kind of 5th.

Ck this link - it tells you how to easily read the VCL sticker on the driver's door post. (Under the "TR" heading, you'll see a "6" for a T-45 or a "K" for the TR-3650.)
And, IMO, the 3650 is world's better than the 45. Got both...

I agree 100%. My 3650 has withstood alot thus far...but we'll see what it can do with slicks and built rear...I wouldn't be suprised if I eat an input shaft.

3650 is a good upgrade from t45, TKO500/600 are also good but have their problems, and T56 is a great unit.

Yeah, it helps out a lot.

I still have stock 3.27's, so 5th gear is useless to me unless i am driving on the interstate at high speeds. At 50-60MPH it's revving so low in 5th it's gutless and i just rather keep it in 4th. I need to get up to 65+ in order to shift to 5th and have decent response
