I LOVE metalic sounding Mustangs. I love the deep roar they give, while sounding like a strong metal block. I want your guys opinions on what headers and pipes and exaust to get. Should I get all one brand? Also, I don't actually have the car YET. I am the one that is trying to buy a 94 GT 5.0 from a woman in Virginia. Anyway, the car is totallystock except for a K&N airfilter and 3.73 gears. So, any opinions? Also, if there is anything else that I can add that would achieve that sound, let me know.

Thanks

That's all it takes for the car to sound like chit. J/K. I wouldn't buy flowmasters because they rust. Considering you are in a tropical type environment, they are really going to be prone to rusting. Plus, there are many other systems that sound and fit way better.

If you want loud and deep bass sound, go with a MAC set-up. Also and offroad h-pipe is pretty much a must-have.

Dont get flowmasters... I made that mistake. Really any off road pipe will give you a nice sound... throw some dumps on there instead of tail pipes and it'll be really loud.

Flowmasters two chamber mufflers have a very nice sound and are loud. Definitely match it up with an O/R H-Pipe or an O/R X-Pipe. But if you want more bass or a more tuned set up, go with Magnaflow or Bassani. These are straight through mufflers while Flowmasters aren't and won't give off as much resonance that the Flowmasters do. It's all personal preference. I had two chamber Flowmasters on my 94' Gt and switched it to a Bassani Quiet Thunder Catback, and I am currently putting a Bassani O/R X-pipe on. The only reason for this was because I live in Illinois where it snows a lot and the pipes won't rust because they are stainless steel. A lot of mustangs in the area have Flowmasters, and I want to be different. Flowmasters are also a lot cheaper than Bassani or Magnaflow. Good luck on the decision.

At the moment I have off road H pipe and flowmasters. I continually get complements on how awesome my car sounds.

Longtubes + Offroad H + Spintech Pro-Streets

Or Flowmasters. I plan on switching to the Pro-streets when funds allow.

O/R X and Magnaflow Magnapacks are really loud and have that tin metalic sound to them. Flows and macs will be loud and deep but they are no where near tin or metalic sounding like he is looking for.

Thanks alot. I know that I will definatly go with an o/r H pipe, but as for the brand of muffler, I am not sure, I just will have to listen to some on MustangExhaust.com or something. If you all know of anymore websites like that, were I can listen to what some setups might sound like, that would be cool if you could post some here. Thanks alot guys.

Also, what is the difference between an H-Pipe and X-Pipe? Should I consider it living in FLorida, or just go with what works for the majority and get an H-Pipe?

Thanks for all you opinions.

Seems like we see these posts all the time.. would be nice to have a library of wave files so people can hear what they sound like. I would certainly contribute with mine.

Okay, after listening to some clips a MustangExhuast.com, I have made a temporary decision to go with BBK H-Pipe, BBK LongTube Headers, and Flowmaster Mufflers. It didn't specify the chambers, so, should I assume 2, or what? Anyway, if you have any opinioins on this setup, I would like to know. Hate it, love it, don't really give a S*!t, stop bothering me. Whatever. Here is a link if you want to hear it. Metalic Sound I Think!

More than an addict, and thanks for the welcome. I am looking to buy a 5.0 from a woman in Virginia, but she wants to sell quicker than I can get the money. If you come across someone wanting to sell a Yellow 94-95 GT 5.0L, let me know. I really want yellow, preferably Canary Yellow, but True Blue will also do! Whatever I can get my hands on will do great. However, I don't want many mods, if any at all, cuz I want to feel pride in my car. I want to have done everything myself. Her car, the one I want to buy, only has 3.73 gears installed and Flowmasters, so, if I don't like that, I can remove it and put what I want. Thanks again. Any more opinions?

I know of someone who will have that for sale by time you get your car I'm going to have to get rid of my headers and cat back, but not sure what I'm going to be doing about my h pipe... that'll probably go too.

I think that is the best set up. I will be getting a Dr. Gas X-Pipe after I have to pass emissions. I have Bassani mufflers now and I love them. Don't do dumps. They suck. I dumped my bassani for about a month and after the first like two weeks I hated them. You don't get to hear the true sound of the mufflerd without tail pipes. Plus everything in the world rattles.
